We are offering the book "Rocky Mountains of Canada". Hand-Colored Edition. The Canadian Pacific Rockies. A Series of Twenty-Four Hand-Colored Vandyke Photogravures. Published by Byron Harmon, Banff, Canada. Copyrighted Canada by Byron Harmon. Printed in England. There is no date, but we believe it to be around 1925. The images are on single-sided plates, and measure from 7 1/2 to 7 3/4" x 11". The book is 8 1/2" x 12 1/4", and all is bound together with heavy cord.
Byron Harmon (1876-1942) was a pioneering photographer of the Canadian Rockies. His photographs provided an outstanding, thorough and vivid representation of the Canadian Rockies in the early 20th century. The front of the book lists the 24 views, describing and giving information about each of them. CONDITION: the photogravures are in Beautiful Condition. Covers show very minimal edge-wear, and there is a light brown stain on the picture of the teepee.
