The DC Universe Collection was amassed by British music producer Ian Levine, who spent decades (and a substantial fortune) pursuing his lifelong dream of owning a copy of every single comic book ever published by DC. Ian achieved his goal in 2004, when he finally tracked down an elusive copy of New Adventure Comics #26, the last of over 40,000 comics on his checklist. Ian's achievement was so unprecedented that it included dozens of comics previously unknown to collectors and unlisted in the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide.
PBA Galleries was chosen over numerous other venues to sell the collection, and the first two sales, featuring Batman and DC Pre-Hero comics, ashcans and oddities, were resounding successes. A Superman-centric sale will follow in the fall, with a number of other DC Universe Collection sales slated for 2025.
PBA will also be offering Spider-Man and Dr. Strange artist STEVE DITKO's personal collection of Strange Tales comics, featuring Dr. Strange, in a special sale on Halloween.
