Elaborate Figurine of a Manichean Chinese Sage obviously taken from a historical example. The craftsmanship is exquisite. I thought it was a composite of bone and ceramic with a symbolic a dead goose hanging from his back. I now believe it to be all bone. This may be ivory. So be aware. It is a truly extraordinary piece. It isn’t very recent.
