This hybrid pen body is real Fordite combined with black epoxy resin. A very dramatic and awesome combo!Fordite is, by definition, layers of dry paint.Fordite raw material (also known as Detroit or Motor City agate) is incredibly rare and very expensive! This Fordite is a buildup of old automotive paint that has been baked numerous times and hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. It take a lot of patience to make these pens, but the result is an impressive and very unique pen. One of this pen's unique features is a red X flare capture in the cap of the pen as well as cabbing emerging in the pen is a member of the platinum family of metals. This is also a very durable hard and brilliant plating.
