This beautiful medal is"Heavenly Worn", after years of rubbing during prayers andmeditation. It was on a nun's rosary until she went to heaven. Its sale willhelp her community. This medal is 1.5 inches long and weighs 9 grams. Itssale will benefit two Carmelite Convents who feed poor kids in South America.

The cult of Madonna of Miracles dates to 1547. Accordingto tradition while washing their clothes in the torrent of a river in Italy thewomen (with a blind and a deaf one among them), saw the apparition of a womanwith a child and were hit by a gust of pebbles moved during the apparition, butwithout getting any injury or pain; on the contrary, after being hit by thepebbles, they strangely felt a certain sense of wellbeing and recovered their health.

This medals 18th century dating can be confirmed on pages2 & 3 of the book AN INTRODUCTION TO RELIGIOUS MEDALS, by Bob Forrest, andpublished by NUMISMATICA INTERNATIONAL in 2004. In addition, this book haschapters (outlined in the table of contents), describing each of the categoriesof medals, their possible place of pilgrimage (acquisition), and origin of themint where they were made.
