This large, round stoneware jug is a unique piece from the late 19th century. It features a beige color and a glazed finish, with a capacity of 4 quarts and a diameter of 6 inches. The jug was handmade and is an original antique from the United States, specifically manufactured in the time period of 1850-1899. This lot also comes with a reprint of William Radam's book published in 1895 entitled, " Microbes and the Microbe Killer.
This is the publication that launched his highly lucrative "Microbe Killer" enterprise. FDA however did shut down these charlatans in 1906.
The RADAM'S MICROBE KILLER No2 jug, with the accompanying book by Wm. Radam makes this item a special addition to any collection. With no visible pattern, the jug has a single compartment and weighs 5.5 pounds. It stands 11" tall and has a 6.24" diameter.
