Natural deep red, lustrous almandine garnet crystal in biotite schist host rock that shimmers in the natural light and takes on different color hues depending on lighting.

Garnet Ledge, Wrangell Island is a famous Alaska mineral location known since the early 1900's. It has been mined for excellent garnet specimens.

This specimen is 2 1/4 inches by 1 3/8 inches by just over 5/8 of an inch thick.

All measurements at the widest areas.

Weight is 1.3 ounces.
