A 5 1/8" tall rectangular-shaped clear-glass antiqueGONORRHEA - GLEET - SYPHILIS - VENEREAL DISEASE Cure- Patent Medicine bottle. IMPORTANT NOTE:The paper label on this bottle is a color reproduced copy, afacsimile of the real label. The bottle is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating well over 100 YEARS old.

Bottle embossed: "KNOXIT".
Condition: Bottle is in good sound condition. It has cloudy content stain and age wear, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. Please see pictures for overall appearance of bottle's label.
Age: An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a tooled-top, ca. early1900's.

This bottle comes with the original blown glass syringe stopper that was still in the bottle when it was found, well over a century after it was in use. IMPORTANT NOTE: The paper label on this bottle is a reproduced copy, afacsimile of the real label, a color reproduced copy from a labeled bottle we once owned. Without the label it would be difficult to understand exactly what this bottle contained, what it 'KNOCKED' (?) as the embossing hints at, but with the label, well, it is one of the more obvious VENEREAL DISEASE bottle's that we've had. Usually they were very secretive about what they said on the label, etc., so that no body elsewould figure out that a person was taking medicine for this disease as that person would likely be shunned by the community.So these type of bottles usually just beat around the bush in explaining what they were for, and how to administer the medicine. But this one with the label wrapping around three sides of the bottle, well it is pretty graphic in describing the use of the medicine. Even the title of this medicine "KNOXIT", kind of makes sense once you read the label! What it supposedly "knocked" was sexually transmitted diseases. Supposedly. Whether it did or didn't wasn't a big thing to the manufacturer as someone with this disease was so desperate they would try anything in hopes of a cure- Side label also mentions it treats Luccarrhoea? (or Whites?), but we could not find out what this word was. A super great example of an old time V.D. CURE,check it out!
