Pir of heavy, cast iron base circa 1900-1920s, embossed with California bears and the name of the fraternal service organization Native Sons of the Golden West, founded in San Francisco in the mid 19th century. Originally intended as a flag pole holder, they could be hung on a wall or used for other purposes - how about a door stop or a unique ceiling medallion for a hanging light fixture?
