This charming lamp is a must-have for any collector of French decor. It features a delightful cat duo named "Nico and Nicolas" designed and signed by Rosina Wachtmeister. Made of high-quality ceramic and porcelain, this lamp is a post-1940 piece that will add a touch of whimsy to any room. The multi-color poppy/cat duo/ design with gold accents is eye-catching! This lamp is from Goebel and comes from Paris, France. The lamp has zero cracks/chips and is in excellent condition.

Invented by Maurice Berger in 1898, Lampe Berger is a fragrance lamp that destroys odors and bacteria by burning an alcohol-based fuel using a catalytic burner. It was sold to hospitals and mortuaries where hygiene was very important. In 1927, Maurice Berger sold the company to Jean-Jacques Failot. Failot changed the fuel to ethyl alcohol, giving it the scent of apples. Suddenly, it could be marketed to the consumer market as a home fragrance. He began collaborating with some of the great bottle designers of the time, such as Galle, Lalique and Baccarat, making Lampe Berger a huge success.
