Free Frank Signed: “London June twenty/ first 1823/ Captn Fitzgerald/ Bath/ Boyle” 4½x2¾ slip of paper affixed to a 7x3½ sheet. Edmund Boyle (1767-1856) was known by his title of the 8th Earl of Cork and Orrery, and from 1768 to 1798 he went by the title of Viscount Dungarvan. Boyle was an Irish soldier who ascended the military ranks, serving in several different Regiments of Foot, and eventually becoming George III's aide-de camp. The Earl was appointed a Knight of the Order of St Patrick on July 22, 1835. Paper of free frank and sheet of paper toned. Corners and edges of free frank and sheet of paper gently worn. Shipping - We ship via FedEx and USPS. Shipping charges are calculated at time of payment and are dependent on the number of items purchased and the destination shipping address. Due to the value of most purchases, a signature is required for delivery. This policy limits our ability to ship to PO Boxes. All international shipments (destinations outside the U.S) will be sent via FedEx. Please feel free to contact us in advance for shipping charges - international customers are encouraged to do so.
