To the front free endpaper there is an incredible, historic inscription by the author to "Happy" Chandler, the second Commissioner of Baseball. Chandler may have been best known for approving the signing of Jackie Robinson by the major league Brooklyn Dodgers.

There is foxing to the upper and fore page edges. Evidence of staining to the covers although this may be difficult to see. Bumps to the corners and spine ends. The dust jacket is well worn with tearing to the upper spine area. Chips and smaller tears to the corners and spine ends. Fading. Foxing to the verso or underside. Price of $2.75 to the front flap.
