IN 1857 HE CONSTRUCTED ALL THE THE BALANCE SCALES FOR THE U.S. MINT. HE SOON BRANCHED OUT TO ALL KINDS OF SCALES. HIS FIRST MAJOR FACTORY WAS BUILT IN 1862 AND SOON AFTER HE STARTED MAKING THIS MODEL SCALE FOR THE CHEMISTRY AND PHARMACEUTICAL MARKETS. THIS WAS HIS PREMIER MODEL SCALE THAT WE ARE OFFERING FOR SALE. THE WOOD CASE IS SOLID WALNUT WITH THE ORIGINAL MARBLE TOP. THE BRASS PANS ARE ORIGINAL ALSO. THE BRASS PANS ARE MARKED H. TROEMNER PHILADELPHIA. THE CASE, MARBLE AND PANS SHOW A MINUTE AMOUNT OF AGE WEAR. THERE ARE NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR BREAKS. PHOTO’S SHOW THE CONDITION. THESE RARE ANTIQUE SCALES ARE HARD TO FIND IN ANY CONDITION LET ALONE ONE IN THIS NICE CONDITION. THE ONLY PIECE MISSING IS THE BRASS SLEEVE THAT FITS INTO THE ROUND FRONT OPENING.
