Letter from Marlboro to Nathaniel Goodwin, discussing genealogy related to the Lord family. Epaphras Lord reprsented Colchester in the General Assembly in the 1700s, and he headed the list of petitioners for the erection of a new parish in the northwestern part of the town, which was called Marlborough, and was later set off as a distinct townsbip in 1803.

This item came from a cache of letters to/from Nathaniel GOODWIN (1782-1855), who was a genealogist, Probate Judge, and Treasurer of Hartford CT. He also published "Descendants of Thomas Olcott" (1845), "The Foote Family" (1849), and posthumously, “Genealogical Notes of Some of the First Settlers of Connecticut and Massachusetts," with a memoir (1856).
