WESTERN PACIFIC RAILROAD The famous CALIFORNIA ZEPHYR, eastbound for Salt Lake City, Denver and Chicago, comes down the middle of Third Street in Oakland, Calif., during a bright day in the late 1960's. At right is Western Pacific's Third and Washington Street station opened in 1910. In March, 1970 the Zephyr made its last run on the Western Pacific.
