Vintage 1970's Asics Tiger Custom Made Running Shoes with bag, size 12 1/2. Onitsuka Tiger/Asics made these type of custom shoes for elite runners such as Bill Rodgers and Lasse Viren after company footwear professionals took precise measurements of the recipient's feet. Just to be clear, these are NOT a pair of Lasse Viren or Bill Rodgers shoes. These particular shoes were custom made for an elite contracted major marathon ranked runner in the 1970's and have been raced in at that time. The sock liner/insole has been removed, presumably for a preferred sock liner or orthotic. Made in Japan, the yellow Onitsuka Tiger/Asics bag is included. Please refer to photos, the last 2 photos are of 2 custom made Lasse Viren shoes of similar construction and from the same time period. I never put the word "rare" on anything for sale but these shoes certainly are.
