In the 1920's (as today) very expensive hand painted porcelain dishware was often reproduced in the United States. The Bavarian pieces are hand painted, and often gilded, and often have the same style of green shaded banding. This shade of green has always been one of my favorites, and is often called "Jadeite Green". It was really popular in the last century! The first photo is the truest showing of the color.
This one is ceramic, not porcelain. It was created a an advertising gift. It is printed in gold "Compliments of W. T. Trauch, Red Hill, Pa. The piece has a wonderful pair of turkeys in a field that is a decal, meant to look hand painted. There is a small scrape through the middle of the decal. It is a charming small platter, that really displays well. It is 10.5" long, and 8" wide. It is unmarked on the back.
I looked on google for W. T. Trauch in Red Hill Pennsylvania, and didn't find anything. Perhaps he was a business man, and gave these platters to his best customers!
