Standard Folding typewriter made by Standard Folding Company, Groton New York. This true antique typewriter was the template for one of the most copied and coveted typewriter lines, the Corona number 3.This example works (see type sample). It has the ribbon I found it with that has been reinked, It is well inked and a bit tatty but prints well. Some of the key tops have been worn through by the finger nails of a previous user. It is amazing that it works.
Am fortunate to have gotten this typewriter. I had long admired them but never thought I would have the opportunity of ownership.Was found in Parma Idaho. I then sent it to my typewriter guru in Saint John\'s , Oregon who informed me of few things needing repair or replacement.. The loose dog did not function, it had a damaged return spring and the vibrator needed to be replaced. He also estimated someone had replaced the platen about 40 years ago but never finished the refurbishing because of other parts being needed. That was just a guess.
Was fortunate to find the parts from the antikeychop company who kindly helped me get the needed parts. He was a pleasure to deal with and very knowledgeable. The case is in good condition. The folding flap that often goes missing or in disrepair is present but kind of goofy. It latches and the the toggle for the key latch works Please ask questions if you have any.
