This book is a rare find. I don't know how to properly grade books but I would say the book is somewhere between fair and good. The front and back cover have a lot of wear with worn edges, creases and a fold on the back cover. The pages are not bad, though there is some yellowing toward the edges. But anyone interested in this book is buying it for the signatures and there are some fantastic ones here. The pamphlet that comes with the book gives a brief biography on the four astronauts who were part of the Space Shuttle Orbiter Crew at that time. These men are Richard Truly, Joe Engle, Gordon Fullerton and Fred Haise who was also the commander on Apollo 13, and these are the four astronaut signatures on the inside cover. The Star Trek signatures are Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelly. Hugh O'Brien, the last signature, was an actor famous for his roles in westerns who was also known as a humanitarian. He was awarded one of the highest honors in 1972 - The Freedom Through Knowledge Award which was sponsored by the National Space Club in association with Nasa. I originally purchased this book around 20 years ago from abebooks.com which is a great place to find rare books, out of print books and other collectibles. The small slip in the 4th photo was from that purchase. The book came with the Orbiter Vehicle pamphlet but there is no COA. However I own many Star Trek collectibles and the Nimoy and DeForest signatures match what I have and they also match the other autographed items listed here on . O'Brian and the astronaut signatures can also be found on and I have matched all of them to their signatures. This is a great piece of history for any Star Trek fan and when there is a crossover with Nasa and astronauts it's even better. This book has been displayed in a glass covered library cabinet in a non-smoking home since its purchase.
