The eighth basket to be added to the Inaugural collection comes with a reminder of the nation's rich history and beginnings. Featuring a WoodCrafts lid with veneer tie-on that has the preamble of the Constitution burned into it. The wood veneer is carefully rolled by hand and tied onto each lid. Only available Dec 2016, many baskets will be dated 2016 on the bottom, while the commemorative tag does refer to it as the 2017 version of the Inaugural Basket because it is intended as a celebration of the inauguration of the our 45th President, Donald Trump. The Longaberger Company, Dresden Ohio, created handwoven baskets out of hardwood maple sourced from the US, pottery, hand-forged wrought iron and other items for over forty years, from 1973 to 2018. The company reopened in 2019 with artisans still located in Dresden Ohio who create baskets just as they had for a century before. Longaberger baskets are handwoven baskets and initialed by the artisan who created them. At the height of the company’s popularity there were over 4,000 weavers and over 70,000 home consultants. As a consultant for over 20 years, I have a great deal of inventory that was either stored or used for display purposes. I also seek out excellent Longaberger items to bring to you online by traveling across many states to seek out the best Longaberger items that are clean and in desirable condition.
