Horses - “The Best of Chums” - Antique PC - DB - 1926 - Oilette, by Tuck and Sons, Co., this card is from the series titled “The Best of Chums” No. 3442 The card is a very elegant image of two horses, a grey horse and a black horse, each with their bridles on and you can see part of the saddle on the black horse - the artist is Carl Reichert (signed “CR” on the front) famous for his paintings of animals - I really love the detail in the not only the horses, but the unique bridle on each horse. Oilettes were promoted by Tuck and Sons, Co. as “veritable miniature oil paintings” and were displayed as art work in homes of all classes of society. This set was Printed in Germany in Bavaria and sold in Great Britain. Posted 27 AU 27 (August 27, 1927) posted in ????wold.
