TO ALL VINTAGE AXE BUYERS ON : There is an seller that in the last 6 months has been flooding with counterfeit black raven axes. I'm sure most of you know exactly who I'm talking about. For those who don't, this listing and message is for you.

I will not explicity name the fraudulent seller for policy, but his seller account name is extremely easy to find when you search for "fake black raven axe" on the internet, or look at the selling history of black raven axes on to see who's been dumping 4 of them a week on here for months...

This seller is blatantly selling counterfeit axe heads while claiming they are 'verified authentic' week after week via sale. Go onto Facebook and search posts for "fake black raven axe" and you will see his name pop up multiple times in major axe groups. Search his username on Google and the 2nd link has a detailed forum discussion on the fake axes he is selling; its not just black ravens.

Now, how do I know for absolute certainty that the black raven axes are fake, diresgarding the multiple examples found online? Let me tell you. Black ravens for the most part come in two styles; the older kelly axe mfg co (pre 1930) and the American fork and hoe Co (post 1930). The most obvious fakes he sells are the pre 1930 versions. The absolute tell all his axes are fake has to do with the letter A in "Black". For Pre 1930 kelly axe mfg co axes, the letter A in black, on every example found on the internet besides the pictures from his postings, has the letter A extend to the graphic in the upper left corner. Even the cheap stickers show this. On every single one of his pre 1930 black ravens, the A does not extend and touch the graphic. You will also notice the "USA" in the lower right corner on the axes he sells is crooked. Then, when you really look at finer details such as the pattern in the wings, and how the lines cross the letters, it becomes apparent. I implore you to block this buyer.

And in general, for ALL VINTAGE EMBOSSED AXES, pay scrutinizingly close attention to every detail of the pattern, compare to as many real examples as available, and use careful judgment to decide whether it's real before spending HARD earned money on a fake.
