Calcite Chalcopyrite Minor Malachite & Dolomite - Location: Sweetwater Mine Tri-State District Bonne Terre Viburnum Reynolds Co. Missouri. Miniature (see photo for more details). Here we have an attractive matrix specimen with some sharply formed gemmy light yellowish colored calcite crystals. The calcite crystals are gemmy and are lustrous; some of the crystals are doubly terminated. There are also some chalcopyrite crystals along with numerous sharply formed off-white dolomite crystals and some small crystal aggregates of green colored malachite (some as inclusions within both dolomite and calcite) from a very famous mining district namely the tri-State district in Missouri. The area is famous for the calcite galena and chalcopyrite specimens found there. The matrix has numerous sharply formed off-white colored dolomite crystals.
