This is an American Series 1100 padlock which I have cut away on one side with a CNC machine so you can see the internals.

These are intended as a visual aid for locksport or as a collector/display piece.

The lock is fully functional and comes with 2 working keys. This lock\'s cylinder comes with 5 pin stacks (with 5 serrated driver pins), with the 6th chamber left empty by the manufacturer.

The cutaway is on the right side of the lock, as viewed from the bottom of the lock with the pins at the top.

This is the exact lock you will be getting. Please check via the photo of the keys that the bitting on this lock is acceptable for your preference/skill level before purchase. Note also that there are 5 security (serrated) driver pins.

Q: Do cutaways \"feel\" different to pick than non-cutaway padlocks?

A: In my opinion, not a lot. The biggest difference I can tell is with spool pins, which the 1100 doesn\'t have anyway.

Q: Why is this cutaway listed as \"used?\"

A: I purchase these locks as new prior to machining them, but has advised that \"used\" is the most appropriate listing condition since it is considered a modified item.

Q: Can you cut away this lock on the other side?

A: No. The 1100 has an internal screw retainer assembly that would obscure the cylinder from view if the cutout were on the opposite side.
