The student newspaper for Alfred University. For the 1935-36 school year (first issue is Sept 19 1935 and the last is May 19 1936). There are many dupes- though there are 17 different issues here (the remainder of the lot being dupes). These are on newspaper stock so the usual wear and tear. Great bit of village and school history- from Freshman registration through the graduation ceremonies for the year. Also includes cigarette ads. From the Black Knight being freed from a Hornell bank vault to Literary Digest Editor William Seaver Woods speaking to a one-hour limit for dating-in not being considered to Dr William Beebe visiting, Dr Watson saving bees at Iowa State, the Plantation Singers coming (with picture), the various pledge classes, the fire at Kappa Nu, the end of the town jail, St Patrick's Day parade, the storm that did $10000 of damage to the campus, the Delta Sig fire, and much more. Invaluable reference to anyone researching the college or area.
