This is an original antique Scientific American magazine supplement number 649. It is the June 9, 1888 edition, the supplement being much harder to find than the magazine. It\'s in newspaper type form measuring about 12 X 16 inches in size and about 16 pages. Has some illustration, some type of engraving, but these are so full of scientific stuff, how things work, what\'s going on in the patent world, etc. Normal light age wear, crinkling around the edges, but not bad. Some of the highlights in this issue: Cover shows the New German Cruiser Schwalbe, has a large article on it\'s equipment. Next pages have diagrams and drawings about steam boilers and their deterioration. There is some on architectual moulding, spectrum analysis, and another large illustrated article on photography. It has the manufacture of photographic sensitive plates, shows Henderson\'s Emulsion washer, and some on Stereoscopic Photography. An article on Antagonism by Sir WIlliam Grover that is a bit of a struggle but it does mention Darwin in brief. Then there is Benjamin Franklin, a recently found letter that talks about the first manned balloon flight at Passy back in the 1790s. This will be more clear than the digital photo shows.
