Mid Century Modern CAT MOUSE NEEDLEPOINT Framed 1983 Fiber Art Needle Work MCM
Wonderful Mid 20th Century Needlepoint picture of a happy cat with a mouse friend. Butterfly, daisies, ladybug too.
Initials (C B) and date ('83) worked by the stitcher beneath the kitty's tail.
This whimsical design was published by Sunset in 1979 and is the creation of renown needlework designer Chris Davenport Dok. I took some images in raking light so you can see the three-dimensional texture for some of the stitched areas.Large! 21 inches x 21 inches square frame outer dimensions, and the wormwood frame is about 1 inch deep. The needlework was framed under 1980s non-glare glass. This needlework will be a true focal point in any room or picture gallery installation.Hanging wire and hardware on reverse. Frame shows small nicks and scuffs to the dark wormwood surface - have not been touched up. Reverse paper dust cover has moisture marks and some breakage but predominantly intact.
