Vintage Japanese Garden Landscape, Abalone Inlay on Black Laquer, Kinkaku Ji TempleThis vintage Japanese print features a stunning garden landscape with the Kinkaku Ji Temple including abalone inlay on black lacquer. The print is inspired by the in Japan and showcases the beauty of Japanese culture. It measures 12.25 x 7.5 inches and is framed in a 17.5 x 12.5 inch frame. Kinkakuji (金閣寺, Golden Pavilion) is a Zen temple in northern Kyoto whose top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf. Formally known as Rokuonji, the temple was the retirement villa of the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, and according to his will it became a Zen temple of the Rinzai sect after his death in 1408.
Condition: The image is bright with no obvious fading or discoloration. The abalone has great luster and color. The blacks are consistent and unblemished.
