DESCRIPTION:
Absolutely superb exampleof a fine Black Tourmaline in Quartz / Tourmalinated Quartz tower. The quartz is a lovely translucent\'phantom\' variety whichallows the tourmaline crystals to show through as if through a mist. It\'s a really lovely effect. The tourmaline inclusions are very large and well spaced out through the quartz. This is a superb addition to any collection and we thoroughlyrecommend this particular example.
A LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT TOURMALINATED QUARTZ:
Tourmalinated Quartz is clear rock crystal (crystal quartz) which has grown together with black tourmaline, and shows strands of the tourmaline running through the quartz, hence \"tourmalinated.\" The earliest use of tourmalinated quartz was for tools made by hominids in Ethiopia over 2 million years ago. Most of this mineral comes from Brazil, and although most has inclusions of Tourmaline that is black, you may also get some rare green Tourmalinated Quartz as well. It is usual when most people are talking about Tourmalinated quartz, to be referring to stone with fine green or black Tourmaline inclusions.
