RARE Höchst Indian Design Porcelain Money Box WITH ORIGINAL CLOSURE AND KEY
Various colored tassels and gold gild trim
Created in the style of the well known vintage \"Drumbo\" elephants, designed by German industrial designer Luigi Colani in the 1970s. The abstracted form and detailed decoration make this iconic piece a true collector\'s item. The design was named Drumbo and was a mascot for the now acquired Dresdner Bank. The design was made available in a number of mediums, as well as a large range of colours, sizes and decor patterns.
This particular piece is in the Oriental / Indian gold gilding decor and is made of high porcelain, produced by German manufacturer Höchst Decor.
Made in Frankfurt Germany
MAKERS MARK: Höchst Decor printed on the bottom.
SIZE:Measures approximately 4.75” inches tallMeasures approximately 6.5” long from trunk to tail and 3.5\" wide
CONDITION: In excellent condition - no chips or cracks - some tape residue on the bottom where key is captive - otherwise appears to be unused.

He also rebodied an Abarth Alfa Romeo design, based on two wrecked Abarth 1000 GT Coupés in the early 1960s.

His long career began in the 1950s when he designed cars for companies such as Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Volkswagen, and BMW. In the 1960s, he began designing furniture, and as of the 1970s, he expanded in numerous areas. A striking grand piano created by Colani is manufactured and sold by the Schimmel piano company. His unconventional designs have made him famous, not only in design circles but also to the general public.
