For sale is an Original Aimpoint 5000 from the very early 1990s, the most common Red Dot Sight in Operation Gothic Serpent in 1993 Mogadishu, the historic event depicted in the popular movie \"Black Hawk Down (2001)\".
The Aimpoint 5000 was adopted for service in 1991, whereas the Aimpoint CompM2 depicted in the movie was not adopted until 2000.This is the original 3 MoA model with an bright and crisp red dot. It is mounted with two 30mm aftermarket scope rings and will fit on any weaver/picatinny rail. The condition is very good. The front reflective lens is protected by a original aimpoint screw on lens that have some tiny scratches. It is normally powered by the CR1/3N and DL1/3N batteries. However, in a pinch, you can use two common 357/303, or LR44 \"button cell\" batteries instead.The scope lenses are in very nice condition.
