This is an outstanding specimen from an old USA collection consisting of a terminated crystal ELBAITE that is translucent red near the termination and then turns pink near the base with some minor lilac crystals of LEPIDOLITE mostly on one side from the Himalaya Mine, Gem Hill, Mesa Grande Mining District, San Diego County, California, USA. The specimen is 3.45 by 2.55 by 2.35 cms in size or about 1.38 by 1.02 by 0.94 inches and weighs 30. 3 grams or 151.5 carats.
