The subject of the photo is a mining and railroadiana history theme, and it is an antique piece from the late 1800s. The Mauch Chunk Railway and Summit Railroad was a coal-hauling railroad in the mountains of Pennsylvania that was built in 1827 and operated until 1932. It was the second gravity railway constructed in the United Stages, which was used by the Lehigh Coal & Navigation Company to transport coal from Summit Hill downhill to the Lehigh canal.The stereoview was produced by Keystone View Co. and is a single piece unit of sale.
