Dated 24 Kislo 5776 - 12/25/1959 of Israel ben Mohar Binyamin, who married Tamar the daughter of Mohar Mordechai,
\"Hachim Meir was born in 1887 and began to study Torah with the support and patronage of the great rabbi of Achalzicha, Rabbi Yehezkel Tetruashvili. At the end of his studies he moved to Atzkuri and was appointed rabbi of the community, at that time there were 31 Jewish families living in Atzkuri and all of them would bring their children to Hacham Meir to teach them Torah.
In 1918, a war broke out between the Tatars and the Georgians. The Tatars accused the Jews of collaborating with the Georgians and decided to kill them. And thanks to the sage Meir who sent two messengers to convey the word of the decree to Akhaltsikha, he called the governor of Akhaltsikha and ordered that the Jews there be given immunity.
After the incident, all Atzakura Jews were displaced to Akhaltsih. Rabbi Meir led the journey.Chacham Meir served in the congregation of the Lower Synagogue of Achaltziha as a rabbi, cantor and teacher from 1965 to 1965. Due to his deteriorating health, he retired from singing in his old age, but despite his retirement, he continued to teach children.Hacham Meir passed away in 1972. The community of Akhaltsikha mourned him a lot, and this for his tireless dedication to his community.\"
