Early Coca-Cola Porcelian "The Ideal Brain Tonic" Sign:
$5000.00

Welcome to Street Dreams Texas as we celebrate our 25th year in the muscle and classic car business. We are always looking for the most unique and rare memorabilia for our customers. This is a VERY RARE Coca-Cola sign. The only information we could find about it was from this sale listing that it was sold at back in 2006. We will let you decide. The following is from the original sale listing back in 2006 on Worthpoint where it sold for $9,300. Since we have not had it authenticated other than it s the same piece saleed back in 2006 we are only asking $5000 for it.
The sign is from 1894 This is a very early and extremely rare thick porcelain sign made by the Enameled Iron Co.,Beaver Falls, Pa which according to the Google search: Ingram Richardson Enameled Iron Company was Largest of its kind in Beaver County..states that the Enameled Iron Company was in operation up until 1900 before the Ingram-Richardson company bought them out in 1902 officially with a reorganization beginning in 1901 which later became the largest porcelain sign maker in the USA. A later date 1920's porcelain sign by the Ingram Richardson Company which can be found in Petretti's 11th edition page 217 measuring 12"x 36" middle right side and sold last year for 3,000.00. The long forgotten Enameled Iron Co ,did however produce a sign for Coca Cola with one of its earliest known slogans "The Ideal Brain Tonic" in 1894 according to my sources of information which is the most recognized years for the slogan use(1893-1894).Petretti's 11th edition page 667 left middle shows the same slogan script use PLO-4 1893-1901. More support information can be found in the only known listed publication, since it was not located in any of my Coca Cola reference guides is the" Porcelain and Enamel Advertising" price guide by Michael Bruner,(see pics). This is not in any way some new 1990's crappy repro. I have contacted the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta, and they were looking into their archives for this sign as well as inquiring on its purchase. The sign itself is just gorgeous overall with some rusting on edges and back with minor chipping near the manufactured "volcano" grommet hole on the bottom left corner edge and bottom right corner edge, just below the marked: Enameled Iron Co.Beaver Falls PA.(see pics). This Beautiful and Rare early 1890's sign with the earliest three color combination colors of Red White (Blue) porcelain enamel/later replaced by green in later Coca Cola enameled signs, also has the early crude fired back marked in fingerprints and printed by hand 2/94..(feb-1894),the one in the book is marked 3/94..which occured during the firing process and are apart of the sign on the back. There are no touch ups or repairs.T his is a must have for any and all serious Coca Cola collectors and really should be in a museum. The sign measures 29" x 6" and wether your into early porcelain enameled signs or super rare Coca Cola, this would be THE premier piece to your collection that has stood the test of time and come from the earliest of known slogans as well as Coca Cola known advertisements outside calendars, paper products and signs. If your looking for a great Christmas gift to yourself, you may never see one again, so it's you chance. I did have to stop this sale and resubmit due to MY error on not addressing the correct date in my title, it stated 1893, when actually the sign is marked 94, I would also like to add that the lettering on the sign are raised(embossed) and I did not include this in the listing, as well as evidence of corroded 100 year old rust on edges, mainly on areas of the two corners that are chipped, which the pictures do not show clearly,as it was hard to get an edge shot taken,as I want to be as accurate as possible and provide as many details of flaws, this does not detract or cause instability on the sign, but needed to be mentioned,Please email any questions you have and I will answer them on a first come first served basis, PRIVATE COLLECTORS WELCOME ,in response from the flood of emails I've received, this sale will NOT end early. The item will be shipped in a padded case, very well protected to ensure safe shipping, insurance is required..,sorry about my missing details,Good Luck offerding !!!!!!!!
