This listing is for an all original, excellent quality, signed Emeralite lamp. It is a Model 8734G, circa 1916 – 1930. There are no repairs or replaced parts.

The shade has no chips or cracks on any exposed areas….it’s really in fantastic condition. It is guaranteed to be an original Emeralite shade, circa 1916 – 1930 and NOT a reproduction. The shade has an excellent original decal on the outside back of the shade, so you know the shade is original.

The base is referred to as a “Double Knuckle” meaning there is one place to adjust the lamp at the bottom of the column and another place to adjust the position of the shade at the top of the column. As such, the lamp can be used in its upright position on a flat top desk or in another position, such as one that would be appropriate for a roll top desk, or even on top of a display cabinet with the shade positioned over the front edge of the case. Theoretically, the number of position combinations for the column and the shade are unlimited. Most of the pictures show the lamp in its upright position, but I’ve also included a few pictures of how the lamp could be used on top of a roll top desk and another picture with the column leaning forward.

The base is dent free and has a very nice original satin brass patina. The socket is original, as is the socket sleeve, and the pull chain works fine. The base is properly signed on a metal plaque affixed to the front of the shade holder. The cast iron weighted underplate is signed EMERALITE 8734 G. The base has been rewired with brown cloth-covered electrical cord, which mimics the original electrical wire in appearance. So, it’s ready to be plugged in and enjoyed immediately…….no need to have to rewire the lamp, as is often the case with lamps sold on . The plug is a replacement, designed to look just like the original, so it’s also safe to use right away.

This is an outstanding example of an all original, vintage Emeralite lamp that would look elegant in any home or office. So, if you’re looking for just one Emeralite lamp in excellent condition, then this is certainly one to consider. This lamp is right as rain, UNLIKE so many other Emeralite lamps on with undisclosed defects, repairs or replaced parts.
