John was the youngest child of six born to Rev. John andMargaretha H. Shank Gsell.
On December 31, 1857 he married Rebecca Boltz, by DanielHartman.
John and Rebecca parented seven children, Mary Ellen (diedas an infant), Sarah C., Georgiana, Rebecca, John, Howard E. and William.
After Rebecca died he married, Emma Susan Huber, on May 5,1882. They had one child Grace. Emma had a daughter Florence Spech to apreviously marriage.
John Worked as a railroad flagman for 15 years for theWestern Maryland Railroad. He was killed accidently when he was run over by arain.
John Gsell was borneldest of eleven children to John Eberly and Susannah Rohrer Gsell.On October 29, 1823 he married his wifeMargaretha H. Shank.They parented six children, Jacob, Susan,'Obed', Isaac, Rebecca and John S.In 1832 he and his family moved from Warwicktownship Lancaster County to Franklin County PA.Rev. John was a Bishop in the Mennonite Churchand Minister in the Upper Strasburg congregation.
