Beautiful and old metal plaque of the blessed

Mother and child. I’m not certain of its metal content, but it is stamped as shown. I’m also not positive of its age, but based on construction and materials I am guessing it is 100 years old or close to it. Unfortunately cannot make any true representation of age or materials- please review photos carefully for best description possible.

It’s a beautiful and unusual piece; the inset circular plaque has been identified as pewter in a single similar item I found that had sold in the past. It is not affixed to anything inside and can move around a bit but does not fall out. It has tarnish and possible wear as shown. I have not cleaned it- this is as found.

The circular relief plaque is shown within a silver tone 3 1/2 inch by 3 1/2 inch square frame with ornate embossed decorative detail. The frame is held together with 3 very small metal nails (one is missing) and includes a blue heavy paper self standing back. The frame has minor tarnish along with scrapes, scuffs and other abrasions and discoloration as shown. There are some areas where this soft metal is slightly bent or otherwise crooked. Also has not been cleaned.

The entire piece weighs approximately 1 ounce. It is lovely and interesting- does not appear to have been an incredibly expensive item, but definitely has been loved, displayed and appreciated for many decades!
