Birmingham, Alabama: Published by Dozier, 1917; almost assuredly 1st & only edition even though cover says "Third Edition." The VERY few originals I have come across during the last 40 years - maybe 4 of them - all said "third edition" but I suspect that is "hype" by the blustery author. Title page does NOT say "third edition."
Has 160 pages + original printed paper covers. Finished size measures approximately 6x9 inches by about 1/2 inch thick. For reading, the book opens up to approx. 12x9 inches.
Bitter anti-Catholic treatise by Dr. Dozier who stirred up LOTS of anti-Catholic and anti-immigrant sentiment in Birmingham in the first 2 decades or so of the 20th century.
Within 4 years Fr. Coyle would beassassinated- probably in some part due to the ruckus stirred up by Dozier - assassinatedon the steps of his church by a Methodist minister. At that time, the very active KKK in Birmingham was actually more involved in anti-Catholic activities than anti-Black activities.
Included in the bibliographical history of Birmingham, BIRMINGHAM BOUND, as one of the 50 most important books relating to Birmingham history.
As of today (30 Octo 2018), I'm about to list another anti-Catholic book by Dr Dozier.
