1790 Bill of Rights To U.S. Constitution 1st Early Printing:
$875.00

February 1790 issue of Mathew Carey's American Museum, or Universal Magazine - one of the earliest successful magazines in the U.S. This issue is notable for containing one of the earliest magazine printings of the original Bill of Rights to the U.S. Constitution (Appendix II - Public Papers). In addition to the proposed Amendments, other articles of interest include "Remarks on a passage in Jefferson's Notes on Virginia," a letter from Benjamin Franklin, a "Letter written by the friends of the negroes in France," and Proceedings of Congress.

A very nice copy, with original sewn binding. Occasional minor foxing, but pages remarkably clean - some even remain uncut.
